Welcome to July, a month when for some the likely hood of SAD becomes high. For those who suffer from Seasonal Affective Disorder the thoughts are often dark and the ability to see life as something to cherish and be grateful for will be difficult or perhaps impossible.
Think of your friends and family and anyone who may be down or alone, and if you can, take some time to share something with them, even if its just a little of your time.
On another topic, I have noticed a lot of new research and data linking EMF's with health and with the roll out of 5G mobile services I feel its important to consider what the information is telling us, see more later in the newsletter.

Why take zinc?
Zinc is one of those essential trace elements - something our body NEEDS - and its proven to have various health benefits when taken moderately or regularly. However, if we are like our American friends, where insufficient intake of zinc was found to be prevalent among one out of two people, and according to the U.S. National Institute of Health, 20% of the population is at risk of overt zinc deficiency. So that means this could be affecting YOU!
I do recall a training event I attended many years ago that showed research suggesting zinc deficiency within a developing feotus will be carried through into the next generation! This is a potential factor in our overall weakening of human systems and proliferation of disease
So, why/how important is zinc? Zinc is involved in more than 300 different chemical reactions in the body. Research shows that 3,000 out of 100,000 protein combinations in the body require this vital mineral and it is mostly found in muscle, retina, liver, kidneys, and bones.
Not to mention that adequate zinc nutrition is revealed as essential for neurobehavioral development, growth, and immune systems. Meanwhile, it has also been observed that sufficient zinc intake helps in reducing the occurrence of premature delivery in pregnant women and acute lower respiratory infections; overall death rates of babies are even influenced along with increasing linear growth and weight gain among infants and young children.
Here we show you 10 reasons why increasing zinc intake is good for your body:
- It enhances metabolism.
- It supports testosterone production.
- It helps maintain good levels of blood sugar.
- It improves insulin function.
- It helps balance acid levels in the stomach.
- It increases the chances of getting pregnant.

The following are other benefits of zinc in the body:
- It helps in the prevention of prostate disorders. Studies show that taking zinc daily reduces tumor growth in the prostate.
- It aids in improving cognitive function. Zinc paired up with vitamin B6 ensures the proper function of neurotransmitters.
- It reduces the level of inflammation which helps in decreasing the severity and duration of common colds and flu.
- It plays a leading role in weight loss for obese individuals. Zinc helps in manipulating the ghrelin hormone, (the hormone that suppresses a person’s appetite).
- It boosts immunity and energy levels, therefore relieving chronic fatigue.
The USDA suggests the dietary intake for zinc is based on age and gender:
- For infants, the daily recommended intake is around 2-3 mg/day (milligrams per day).
- For children aged between one to 13 years old, the daily recommended dose is 3-8 mg/day.
- For adults aged 14 and over, the daily recommended intake is at 8 to 11 mg/day.
Aside from appropriate supplementation, zinc can also be sourced from a variety of foods, including those which are high in protein. Other foods that can help increase zinc levels include oysters, lamb, garbanzo beans (chickpeas), salmon, mushroom, eggs, pumpkin seeds, and cocoa powder. With the right dose of multivitamins including zinc, coupled with proper diet and exercise, you can achieve optimal zinc levels and great health in no time!

How EMF (electropollution) exposure causes cancer.
To keep things simple, lets just say EMFs are invisible low or high frequency energy that emanates from electrical and wireless devices.
Thats right its invisible, this is one of its problems, we don't see it so we don't think its a problem, its in fact all around us and it CAN cause serious health problems - even cancer. The electrical wiring and appliances we use on a daily basis generally emit low frequency EMFs, our cordless or wireless devices like routers tend to generate high frequency EMFs.
So what does the research say, and what do the experts have to say about it?
Well, research has linked both low and high frequency EMF's to a variety of problems:
- digestive issues
- skin problems
- and sleeping difficulty
There is also much evidence produced over many years that shows EMFs cause more serious conditions like autoimmune disorders and certain types of cancer.
So, how and why do these common forces that we rely on so much cause so much damage? Paul Héroux, Ph.D., a researcher and professor of toxicology and health effects of electromagnetism with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University in Montreal, recently explained in an interview.
Héroux began with studying electrical power transmission lines, and then started researching the effects of the electromagnetic fields emitted by these transmission lines. These are the same lines that we see crossing the countryside that deliver the energy all over.
“I got involved in biology, followed courses in medicine and became, so to speak, a different person from what my supervisors initially would have expected me to be,” he told Waking Times.
Fortunately for us, his research and his desire to help protect the health of humans and the environment turned him into an expert on the effects of these fields on the human body, .
The first thing that Héroux explained is that low-frequency fields, high-frequency fields, electric fields, microwaves and magnetic fields all have similar biological effects on the human body.
“It’s true that frequency influences the effects,” Héroux says, “but basically … I could, using an electric field or a magnetic field, produce the same effect in a cell. Most higher frequency signals have enough low-frequency components to have a lot in common with low-frequency components.”
He also states that even though EMFs do not generate heat, they nonetheless cause damage – despite what telecommunications companies might want us to believe, industry has hidden behind the myth that if it doesn't result in heating its safe for many years.
“Covering the whole spectrum, there is no doubt that there are biological effects,” he explained. “There’s no doubt there are substantial health effects that we have been experiencing for a long time, and that have been increasing our health bills.”
What Héroux discovered is that EMFs at low levels such as 50 or 60 Hertz (Hz) can signifcantly affect the development of cancer cells, as well as impair fertility and yes, even increase the risk of miscarriage.
Héroux makes the statement that EMFs substantially increase oxidative stress - good old free radical damage, which damages proteins and cell membranes and breaks DNA bonds and all contribute to accelerated aging.
The Free Radical Biology and Medicine journal showed in a study that excessive oxidative stress causes chronic inflammation, this inflammation we now know in turn causes many diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular disease and cancer.
Unfortunately the problem is as Héroux warns, and that is, that most of us live in a modern environment where we are surrounded by a dangerous level of EMFs all the time.
As I have counselled customers for many years, the wise thing is to continue following the prudent avoidance policy and work to mitigate the damage as much as possible by lowering exposure to wireless routers, smart meters, microwaves, mobile phones and other non-essential sources of electromagnetic frequencies.
So if you are not going to opt for any specific protection, then in the least please turn off as many of your devices and gadgets at night time or when they are not in use. Choose not to "wear" your cellphone in your pocket, use cordless and mobile phones on speaker and don't sleep with your phone. If you do need to use a alarm, spend $10 and get a battery clock for beside your bed.
